    Populist Roundtable

It's apparent to me that the various groups that want real change need to get together at least once a month and chat.

Not a new organization, bureaucracy, office, dues or rules, just a roundtable and talk. Hour and a half.

    Call it the Populist Roundtable.

Start with Free Buffalo, Speakup, and Primary Challenge.

Are there any other groups that should be invited. FB will sponsor the first meeting.

(Oh yeah, all parties are welcome since we're nonpartisan.)

Who's going to hold on to all of the meeting minutes?

Who's going to hold on to the names of individuals and/or groups attending?

Who's going to hold on to the "items of dicussion"?

How is the "round table" going to announce the ideas/views talked about?

Where will it be announced for betterment of Erie County?

Who's going to be the one forwarding the discussions to government for the betterment of the County?

If this is just going to be a "get together" of all groups, what name/person will be used to forward the discussions?

If this is not about creating a new group, who's going to hold on to these important discussions?

Color me negative, but I think these are important questions that should be asked before partaking in a discussion group, willing to be sponsored first by free buffalo.

IMHO - speakup is the round table of such discussions daily... hourly even. Serious County/Government discussions occur everyday here in the forum boards.

Nightowl? You have to chill some.

Around 1770 when we were all talking about how England was boning us do you really think there was someone at each meeting taking notes? I'm also sure there wasn't someone running around making sure someone was taking notes either.

I say we just get together and one person has the gavel. If the gavel hits the table everyone shuts up and the meeting continues.

    Huh?

I was just asking some questions. Is there anything really wrong with that?

I'm also sure there wasn't someone running around making sure someone was taking notes either.

What would be the point of getting together for "real change" (quoting Jim O.) if someone is not going to keep track of what's been/being discussed?

If this is just to sit and shoot the breeze for an hour and a half, why not just plan a social evening?

I also have a concern, if this is for anyone to attend, why was it posted in the freebuffalo forum?

I personally think I asked some fair questions.

    And then what?

Where will it go from there?

If it's about "real change" it would have to go further, my question is... who's going to be the person to take it further on behalf of the entire round table grouping?

Let Jim call it what ever he wants.. it makes no difference.

And why do you have a concern about anything? He posts something up on a site he's doing and now you have a concern?

I wonder if he would show up...

With him it is hard to tell. It would be good if many would show up.

Another thing. We might have to argue over the shape of the table, remember the Paris Peace Talks?

Okay, I confess. It's all about smoking out Night Owl and getting lots of photos of h--Night Owl.

I'll schedule a meeting in October--password, secret, handshake to follow, etc.
